Cruisin‘ to Key Largo

We met up with our friends from the local chapter of the Alfa club at a shady spot in Coral Gables for a scenic drive via South Florida’s back roads to our destination waterfront restaurant in the Upper Keys. Due to the great weather, many other motorists had also picked the Keys as a destination, resulting in a nearly hour long traffic backup where Card Sound Road rejoins the Overseas Highway in Key Largo. Once past that, the ride was again relaxing but the delay allowed our original restaurant selection to fill to capacity before we arrived. After several calls made from the parking lot, we found that Sundowners on the Gulf side had plenty of space available. After a short drive back the way we came, our group enjoyed a laid back lunch and some lively conversation.
